How I work
Serving the whole horse
A holistic approach to horse care is vital for both short- and long-term health. I strive to take a whole-horse approach to hoof care and regularly share my observations with clients. By evaluating factors like hoof wear patterns, gait, body condition, conformation, fitness, metabolic function, and more, we’re able to support not just healthier hooves, but better overall body function and well-being.
Team mentality
It takes a village - none of us knows everything. I truly value and enjoy collaborating with other professionals who prioritize the horse and maintain an open mind! I work with experienced and thoughtful veterinarians, osteopaths, dentists, and other practitioners, and I’m always happy to collaborate with whoever you trust to support your horse. Your perspective as an owner is just as important—you often know your horse best, and your observations are a critical part of the process and the village effort.
Osteopathy and conditioning
I am a student at the Vluggen Institute for Equine Osteopathy and integrate this perspective into my hoof care work. While I work toward my certification (expected 2029), I can facilitate certain osteopathic testing and mobilizations within my scope as a student practitioner. When a full osteopathic evaluation is needed, I can refer you to trusted certified osteopaths. Because movement directly shapes hoof health, I also incorporate conditioning strategies into my work. When appropriate, I provide exercises and guidance to help improve movement, load distribution, and hoof wear patterns.
Least intrusive, minimally aversive, most impactful
In all aspects of my work, I strive to find the most comprehensive solution for each horse. I approach problems by asking “why,” whether I’m addressing behavior, hoof pathologies or compensatory gaits. I draw heavily from osteopathic principles and enjoy blending this approach with allopathic practitioners as well. I look to offer ongoing support, critical thought, and partnership to help you and your horse progress over time.
